Brief Report of General Body meeting held at St. Ignatious Nursing College, Honnavar.
Theme: Evangelical Counsels of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in Today’s Context

The Annual General Body Meeting of the CRI KARWAR UNIT was held on 26th February at St. Ignatious Nursing College Honnavar. The total number of 80 participants attended the meeting. The meeting began with a prayer service led by Sirsi Zone. Sr. Alphonsa Stanley President of Karwar Unit welcomed the gathering. All the dignitaries of the day lit the diya symbolizing Gods presence among them. They were also presented with a flower as a token of warm welcome.
The first session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Francis Agnelo Ruzario (OFM) on the theme of Evangelical Counsels. He gave an insightful talk, which inspired the participants to deepen their commitment to their vows. After a short break, Sr. Severine Menezes, CRI President of Mangalore Unit, took the next session. She spoke on the importance of Health and well-being. Her energetic and passionate approach made the session interactive and inspiring. She also introduced exercises that revitalized and energized the participants. Next, Sr. Jacintha Saldhana (KRCR), Provincial Superior of SAP, addressed the topic “Emotional well-being”. She shared her valuable insights on how to maintain emotional balance in religious life. She emphasized the importance of inner stability and self –awareness.
The day concluded with the Eucharistic celebration, officiated by Rev. Fr. Nirmal Miranda, Episcopal Vicar for Religious and Director of the Pastoral Centre, Shirwad, Karwar, along with nine concelebrants. In his homily, Fr. Nirmal stressed the importance of working together as pilgrims of hope, bringing faith to the people we serve. The meeting concluded with Sr. Florine Fernandes, the CRI secretary, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success. She sincerely tanked Rt. Rev. Bishop Duming Dias, who could not attend due to unavoidable circumstances but had
sent Fr. Nirmal Miranda on his behalf. She acknowledged Fr. Nirmal’s presence and support, highlighting his role as a source of strength for all religious members.
Following the meeting, the members gathered for lunch, enjoying the warmth and camaraderie built throughout the day. As they departed for their respective communities, they carried with them a sense of joy and renewal, feeling refreshed and enriched by the insights and experiences shared during the session. The meeting was a meaningful and enriching experience for all participants, strengthening their commitment to religious life.
